Sturge & Toth has unveiled Project Galaqsea, a striking 95-metre superyacht concept developed in collaboration with Lateral Naval Architects and inspired by the scale, order and mystery of the galaxy.
Designed inside and out by Sturge & Toth, Galaqsea is conceived as a complete architectural system rather than a collection of individual spaces. Flowing exterior geometry, layered decks and carefully controlled sightlines create a cohesive profile, while naval architecture and engineering by Lateral Naval Architects underpin the concept’s technical ambitions.
One of Galaqsea’s most distinctive features is its signature light beam. Projected vertically from the yacht’s highest point during evening arrivals or special occasions, the beam transforms the vessel into a luminous landmark, visually connecting sea and sky.
A dramatic glass-belt atrium sits at the heart of the yacht, with 180-degree panoramic glazing extending across the beam and creating a strong connection with the surrounding seascape. A central spiral staircase and glass-shaft elevator rise from the lower deck to the sundeck, forming the yacht’s main circulation core.
Accommodation is arranged for up to 16 guests, supported by 31 crew members. The owner’s deck is envisioned as a private, open-plan retreat, while guest areas include private balconies, flexible social spaces and dedicated wellness rooms designed to maximise light and sea views.
At water level, the beach club becomes one of the concept’s most impressive spaces. Large fold-down shell doors dramatically increase the usable deck area while opening up panoramic views across the water. A substantial tender garage also provides space for a 12-metre limousine tender and an extensive collection of water toys.
Measuring 15 metres across the beam, Galaqsea combines its dramatic proportions with forward-thinking propulsion. A diesel-electric hybrid system with pods is planned, with a targeted top speed of 16 knots.
With Project Galaqsea, Sturge & Toth presents a bold vision of future superyacht design — one where architecture, engineering and theatrical detail work together to create an experience that is as much about atmosphere as it is about scale.
