CRN's 70-Metre Project Thunderball Enters Final Construction Phase Following Launch

Italian shipyard CRN has reached a major milestone in the construction of its latest bespoke superyacht, Project Thunderball, with the 70-metre vessel now progressing into the final stages of build following her launch in Ancona.

Constructed in steel and aluminium, the fully custom yacht has emerged from the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard and will now undergo final outfitting, systems commissioning and sea trials ahead of her scheduled delivery later this year.

Project Thunderball is the result of a close collaboration between CRN and renowned design studios Vripack and Nauta Design. The yacht's exterior styling and preliminary naval architecture were developed by Vripack, while Nauta Design was responsible for the interior concept and the design of the outdoor guest areas.

The yacht's profile combines elegant proportions with contemporary styling, creating a sleek and sophisticated appearance. Particular attention has been paid to the relationship between interior and exterior spaces, allowing for a seamless flow throughout the vessel and enhancing the onboard experience for guests.

With a beam of 11 metres and a gross tonnage of approximately 1,100 GT, Project Thunderball offers generous accommodation for up to 12 guests. The layout includes an owner's suite and five guest cabins, while dedicated crew quarters provide accommodation for up to 15 crew members across nine cabins.

Among the yacht's notable engineering features is an advanced energy management system designed to improve operational efficiency and enhance comfort on board. The technology enables quieter operation while at anchor and contributes towards reducing fuel consumption by optimising the yacht's energy usage.

The project has been overseen by Y.CO, which has acted as the owner's representative throughout the build process, coordinating project management activities and supporting the development from concept through to completion.

As the yacht moves into the final stages of construction, Project Thunderball highlights CRN's continued expertise in delivering highly customised superyachts that combine advanced engineering, contemporary design and Italian craftsmanship. Upon delivery, the vessel will join the growing fleet of large bespoke yachts produced by the Ancona-based shipyard, further reinforcing its position within the global superyacht sector.
