Italian shipyard Baglietto has celebrated the launch of Sui Generis, a new 40.9-metre superyacht from its successful DOM133 series, marking another milestone in what has been a particularly active year for the renowned builder.
Launched from the yard's facilities in La Spezia, the yacht showcases the distinctive design language that has helped establish the DOM133 range as one of Baglietto's most sought-after platforms. Designed by Stefano Vafiadis, the model combines contemporary styling with generous interior volumes and extensive opportunities for owner customisation.
What immediately sets Sui Generis apart is her bold cobalt blue exterior, a colour choice that gives the vessel a strong visual identity and ensures she stands out both in port and at sea. The yacht's interiors were developed by Baglietto's in-house design team, with a layout tailored to reflect the owner's individual preferences.
Among the notable bespoke features is a flexible guest accommodation arrangement on the lower deck, where two VIP cabins can be transformed into a spacious full-beam suite through the use of a sliding partition. Additional modifications include an enlarged central foyer designed to showcase artwork, further enhancing the yacht's personalised character.
The vessel retains the hallmark features of the DOM133 platform, including expansive glazing, opening terraces that strengthen the connection with the sea, and a two-level beach club complete with an infinity pool featuring a movable floor. A custom-designed pool on the sundeck adds another leisure-focused element to the onboard experience.
Powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines, Sui Generis is capable of reaching a top speed of approximately 17 knots while maintaining the long-range cruising capabilities expected of a yacht in this class.
The launch further reinforces the popularity of the DOM133 series, which has continued to attract buyers seeking a balance between contemporary design, practical cruising performance and extensive customisation possibilities. Industry demand for the platform remains strong, with additional units already under construction and scheduled for future delivery.
