CSB Group launches UNICO Yachting

Following an elegant launch event held at the Royal Malta Yacht Club that drew a curated audience of clients, collaborators, and yachting enthusiasts, UNICO Yachting has officially made its debut. As the latest venture by Michael J. Zammit. Group CEO of CSB Group, UNICO enters the Mediterranean’s premium yacht brokerage and charter scene with an offering that is both integrated and highly personalised.

Rooted in Zammit’s long-standing passion for the sea and his experience leading one of Malta’s most established corporate services firms and also that of Malta Sotheby’s International Realty, UNICO Yachting aims to simplify the often complex world of yacht ownership, charter, and management. “The idea behind UNICO was to create a brand that goes beyond the transaction. We wanted to provide a full-service experience for clients who expect more,” Zammit says.

That full-service approach is what truly defines UNICO. In addition to yacht sales and charters, the company offers a comprehensive suite of services: yacht registration, ownership structuring and fiscal support, VAT structuring, yacht finance, insurance, crew payroll and contracts, surveys, and ongoing yacht care. Through its close ties with CSB Group and Malta Sotheby’s International Realty, UNICO clients also gain access to prestigious property, trusted corporate services, tax advise, residency application support, licensing of regulated industries and more, all under one umbrella.

This integrated model caters to the expectations of today’s luxury clients, who are looking for seamless, discreet, and expert-led service. “Our clients appreciate having a single point of contact for everything,” says Zammit. “They don’t just want a yacht, they want someone to handle the process from end to end, with no loose ends.”

Malta, where UNICO is based, continues to strengthen its position as a strategic yachting hub in the Mediterranean. Its attractive flag registry, modern marinas, and central location make it a compelling base for both owners and charterers. Zammit believes that Malta's yachting infrastructure, combined with its financial and jurisdiction reputation, makes it ideal for clients looking to moor or register their yachts in Europe.

When asked about current trends, Zammit points to enduring demand for established builders like San Lorenzo, Azimut, Princess, Ferretti, and Benetti. These brands are consistently popular among clients for their craftsmanship, design, and comfort. Charter clients, too, are increasingly looking for well-managed yachts with crew that can deliver tailored onboard experiences – making them unforgettable.

In line with its tech-forward approach, UNICO Yachting also facilitates virtual yacht tours, and accepts cryptocurrency payment, a nod to the evolving expectations of global clients who prioritise speed, flexibility, and privacy.

Looking ahead, Zammit says the focus is on selective growth. “We’re not aiming to be the biggest. We’re focused on quality, on building lasting relationships with our clients, and ensuring they receive the kind of service that reflects their lifestyle and standards.”

The brand’s launch event marked the beginning of that journey, setting the tone for what UNICO Yachting promises to deliver: a new benchmark in yacht brokerage and charter, backed by decades of expertise and a commitment to integrity and trust, that accompanies those passionate about yachting throughout their nautical experience.
