The Royal Malta Yacht Club has formally announced a change in leadership following its 2025 Annual General Meeting, marking a significant milestone in the Club’s history. Mr Mark Napier has been appointed as Commodore, succeeding Mr David Cremona. This transition follows Mr Napier’s performance in the previous election, where he secured the second-highest number of votes, and has now received the Committee’s endorsement to assume the Club’s highest executive office.

Mr Cremona, whose tenure as Commodore was defined by strategic stewardship and resolute dedication, continues to serve the Club in a senior capacity. He assumes the position of Vice Commodore, thereby ensuring continuity of vision and offering critical support to the new leadership during this period of evolution.
The AGM also confirmed the appointment of Ms Amata Camilleri as Honorary Secretary. Her role will be pivotal in fortifying the Club’s administrative operations. Supporting the executive structure is Mr Mark Vella, who retains his mandate as Honorary Treasurer and continues to provide financial guidance.
Further reinforcing the Club’s operational leadership are three Rear Commodores, each tasked with the role of overseeing distinct functional areas. Mr Adrian Gauci Borda takes responsibility for the yachting portfolio, Mr Mario Debono oversees matters pertaining to the House, while Mr Georges Bonello DuPuis assumes responsibility for events, with a remit to uphold the Club’s social calendar.
The AGM also introduced new members to the Committee, with Mr Aaron Gatt Floridia and Mr Simon Xuereb formally appointed to serve. Their addition represents a strategic investment in fresh insight and professional diversity, enriching the Club’s decision-making and long-term planning capacity.
In recognising this pivotal transition, the Royal Malta Yacht Club formally expressed its appreciation to outgoing Committee members Mr James Villette and Mr Edgar Warrington for their significant contributions. The Club also acknowledges with gratitude the continued service of Mr Cremona, whose leadership has left an indelible mark on its legacy.
Through this restructured leadership body, the Royal Malta Yacht Club reaffirms its dedication to excellence, institutional foresight, and its enduring commitment to the advancement of maritime culture in Malta.
