The legendary Orient Express has officially unveiled its newest venture into luxury travel — the Orient Express Corinthian, now recognised as the world’s largest sailing yacht.
Revealed in Saint-Nazaire, France, the remarkable 220-metre vessel represents a bold new direction for the historic brand, combining timeless Art Deco-inspired elegance with advanced modern sailing technology.
Designed as an ultra-exclusive experience at sea, the Corinthian will accommodate just 110 guests across 54 luxury suites, each offering sweeping panoramic ocean views. The interiors draw inspiration from the golden age of travel, blending refined craftsmanship with contemporary comfort to create what many are already describing as a floating palace.
The yacht has been developed with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation. Equipped with three towering rotating masts and cutting-edge SolidSail technology, the vessel is designed to harness wind power more efficiently while significantly reducing fuel consumption compared to traditional cruise ships.
On board, guests can expect a highly curated luxury experience, including fine dining restaurants, wellness facilities, elegant lounges, entertainment spaces, and a private marina platform designed for direct access to the sea.
The Orient Express Corinthian is set to begin its Mediterranean itineraries in 2026, with Malta scheduled as one of its stops this September — further cementing the island’s growing reputation as a premier destination for luxury yachting and high-end tourism.
Its arrival is expected to attract considerable attention within the Mediterranean maritime and hospitality sectors, offering a glimpse into the future of sustainable ultra-luxury travel.
For Malta, the visit marks yet another sign that the island continues to position itself firmly on the global luxury travel map.
