The German shipbuilding giant Lürssen has reached a major production milestone with the official launch of the 102.4-meter superyacht Jassi. Emerging from the Rendsburg facility, the vessel—previously known throughout its development as Project JASSJ—is now entering the final stages of outfitting ahead of its highly anticipated 2026 delivery.
A Five-Year Journey to the Water
The project first gained international attention at the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show. Since then, the build has followed a meticulous timeline, including a technical hull launch into the Kiel Canal in late 2023. This latest appearance represents the first time the public has seen the yacht in its near-complete form, showcasing a sophisticated grey hull paired with a distinctive black boot stripe.
Design and Architecture
British design firm RWD is the creative force behind both the exterior styling and the interior spaces. The aesthetic is defined by "quiet authority," featuring:
Signature Lines: A traditional flared bow that transitions into a clean, elongated sheerline.
Glazing: Extensive use of curved glass across the superstructure, creating a seamless, layered look.
Outdoor Living: Tiered aft decks that step down toward a massive waterline beach club, along with a foredeck helipad and a semi-suspended glass swimming pool.
Volume and Capacity
While many yachts of this length prioritize lean profiles, Jassi is built for immense internal volume, boasting a gross tonnage of 3,420 GT. This makes her one of the most substantial private vessels in her size bracket.
Accommodation: She is designed to host up to 20 guests across 10 luxury staterooms.
Operations: A dedicated crew of 37 will manage the vessel’s complex systems and guest services.
Specs: Built to Lloyd’s Register standards, she features a 15-meter beam and a 3.9-meter draft, ensuring stability for long-range global cruising.
Lürssen’s Busy Pipeline
The launch of Jassi comes amidst a flurry of activity at the shipyard. Lürssen is currently managing several other 100m+ builds, including Project Defy and Project Omega, as well as the 110-meter Project O3, which recently commenced sea trials.
Managed by Moran Yacht & Ship, Jassi will undergo final testing in the North Sea later this year. Once commissioned, she is expected to rank as one of the top 80 largest yachts in the world by volume, cementing her status as a true "gigayacht."
