Ferrari Hypersail: A New Era of Innovation in High-Performance Yachting

Ferrari is bringing its legendary racing expertise to the seas with Ferrari Hypersail, a revolutionary 30-metre foiling yacht that combines cutting-edge technology, Italian craftsmanship and exceptional performance. As construction progresses towards its anticipated launch in March 2027, the project is set to push the boundaries of competitive sailing and marine engineering.

Ferrari Hypersail: Where Automotive Excellence Meets Yachting Innovation

Currently under construction in Pisa, Italy, Ferrari Hypersail has reached a significant milestone, with its hull painting and distinctive livery now complete. Designed by the Ferrari Design Studio, the yacht features a striking combination of Nuovo Giallo Fly yellow and Grigio Hypersail grey, reflecting Ferrari's iconic automotive heritage while celebrating the lightweight properties of carbon fibre.

The bold colour scheme draws inspiration from Ferrari's legendary sports cars, particularly the 1970s Ferrari 512 BB, seamlessly blending the brand's racing DNA with contemporary yacht design.

Advanced Foiling Technology Designed to Fly

At the heart of Ferrari Hypersail lies an innovative foiling system engineered to lift the yacht above the water, reducing drag and maximising sailing performance.

The 30-metre ocean-racing monohull features an advanced canting keel, foils and rudder, all integrated through an automated Flight Control system that manages the yacht's dynamic movements.

Its impressive dimensions further highlight the project's ambition:

  • 35.5-metre mast, comparable to a Boeing 777 wing.

  • 462 square metres of sail area, equivalent to two tennis courts.

  • 23.5-metre total foil width, demonstrating the scale of its advanced engineering.

Redefining Energy Efficiency at Sea

Ferrari Hypersail also introduces its revolutionary Winch by Wire technology, transforming crew-generated physical energy into electrical power to operate the yacht's sail systems.

This innovative solution allows sailors to maintain consistent performance while efficiently managing substantial loads, with a single crew member capable of controlling up to nine tonnes.

By combining human power, intelligent automation and advanced engineering, Ferrari is exploring new possibilities for energy management in competitive sailing.

The Future of High-Performance Yachting

With its anticipated launch in March 2027, Ferrari Hypersail represents an exciting convergence of automotive innovation and advanced marine technology.

For yacht enthusiasts, the project offers a fascinating glimpse into the future of high-performance sailing, where precision engineering, aerodynamic design and technological excellence continue to redefine what is possible on the water.
