Rodney Martin
Director of Business Development
Rodney holds an honours degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Auckland University, New Zealand.
Rodney has been at the helm of a number of different organisations in various different industries as Chairman, CEO or Managing Director. Rodney is a finance specialist and for the last 20 years has focused on industry aggregation strategies through acquisitions and mergers. Rodney has completed more than 50 M&A transactions across New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, Belgium and Turkey.
Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, the City of Sails, Rodney has always been passionate about boats and boating. At a very young age Rodney was introduced to the family cabin cruiser, he owned his own sailing dingy by the age of 12, and throughout his teens he crewed and raced on many different sailing yachts for various yacht clubs in Auckland.
Later in life Rodney switched to motor yachts and for the last 17 years, Rodney has been the passionate owner and captain of a number of motor yachts in New Zealand and the Mediterranean, most recently a Princess 72 based in Malta. Rodney has captained his various motor yachts all over the North Island of New Zealand, the South of France, Italy, Corsica, Sardinia, Malta, Croatia and the Greek Islands.
As Director of Business Development, Rodney will head UNICO Yachting’s bold international growth plan, establishing a network of premier partner-led hubs across key Mediterranean destinations through a scalable partner-led growth model.
