At 16 years old, while I was expected to follow the traditional route of exams, university, and a career in law or accounting, I found myself drawn to something far more valuable—the real world of business. Instead of sitting in a classroom, I decided to give up my studies and instead was learning through experience, diving into admin duties, invoicing, petty cash, and even debt collection. It wasn’t glamorous, however it gave me something no textbook could: resilience, responsibility, and a deep understanding of what it takes to build a business from the ground up.
At that time, my father had just started CSB Group, following his experience in the family’s original business—importing and distributing leading brands like Lipton Tea and Danone. None of this would have been possible without my father. I’ll always be grateful that he gave me the space and the chance to grow, constantly encouraging every new idea or initiative I brought forward. We were—and still are—the perfect team. His belief in me shaped the entrepreneur I am today.
My Dad always told me "It’s good to dream" (and still does), and that advice has stuck with me to this day. Over the years, I worked my way up, gaining experience in every part of the business—from debt collection and credit reporting to corporate services and financial licensing. With time, I took on a leadership role, and today, 34 years later, I am proud to lead CSB Group with a team of over 120 professionals, delivering a 360-degree service to international clients relocating to or setting up in Malta.
Beyond CSB, I’ve continued to turn dreams into reality. Having successfully attracted Regus, part of IWG plc, to Malta, which today operates three business centres covering 4,600+ square meters of serviced offices, meeting rooms, and co-working spaces. Additionally, we also introduced Sotheby’s International Realty to Malta, positioning our brand as the leader in luxury real estate.
Now, UNICO Yachting is the next chapter—a natural evolution of our family’s legacy. For me, the sea has always been a place of freedom, inspiration, and new possibilities. UNICO isn’t just about yachts—it’s about a lifestyle, a passion, and a vision to bring together expertise, relationships, and a deep-rooted commitment to excellence. It’s about creating a brand built on trust, reputation, and the human touch—values that have shaped everything I’ve done.
As I continue this journey, I remind myself of what my Dad’s words —“It’s good to dream.” UNICO is proof that dreams, when built on passion and hard work, become reality.
