Kurt Guttridge
Naval Architect and Marine Engineer
Kurt is an experienced Naval Architect and Marine Engineer with a career spanning over two decades. He began at sea as an engineer cadet before pursuing academic studies in the UK, graduating from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne with a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, and later specialising in marine transport management. His academic achievements were recognised through the prestigious RW Mann and Burrill Awards.
Upon returning to Malta, Kurt served within the flag administration, where he played a key role in the regulatory development of large yachts. He was responsible for drafting and implementing the first Malta Commercial Yacht Code, laying the groundwork for Malta’s emergence as a leading jurisdiction in the superyacht sector.
In 2011, Kurt founded NAS, a specialist consultancy and surveying practice focused on technical excellence and regulatory insight in the yachting domain. Driven by the motto “Leading Maritime Solutions,” NAS has grown under his leadership into a trusted name offering services including flag compliance, valuation, new build oversight, refit management, and owner representation. Together with his team, Kurt has overseen an extensive portfolio of superyacht projects and has surveyed and valued yachts across Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
